Our mission is to serve the 50+ traveler. We want to inspire you to explore new destinations, discover new experiences, and savor the journey.

Are you ready for something different in 2022? How does a chance to visit one of the premier spas and wellness facilities in the country sound? How about taking in the breathtaking desert scenery and the vast beauty of Utah? If this sounds like fun to you, I have the perfect place! I was recently a sponsored guest at Red Mountain Resort and all of the above is just some of what you can expect to enjoy on your stay at this fabulous award-winning resort.

Red Mountain Resort is a beautiful and serene wellness retreat located in the charming town of St. George, Utah. (Technically, Red Mountain is located in the town of Ivins, Utah, but it’s all part of the St. George metropolitan area).

We flew into Las Vegas and made the easy 2-hour drive north on 1-15, although you could fly directly into town via the St. George Regional Airport.

I wanted to relax, unwind and dive into 2022 with a renewed spirit. And, I was looking for a spot where nature would be a big part of my adventure. Red Mountain Resort checked all the boxes and then some. A trip to Red Mountain Resort is like nothing I’ve experienced and I’m betting it will be the same for you.

Here are the reasons you should consider a visit to Red Mountain Resort.

Red Mountain Resort caters to everyone. There were numerous groups like my sister and I who visited as part of a girls’ getaway. Mature couples were in a yoga class with us as was a family that included an older teenager. What I thought was really cool were the single folks who visited Red Mountain when we did. We had dinner with another guest who said Red Mountain made it so easy and inviting to travel solo! The Red Mountain shuttle even picked her up at the St. George airport so she didn’t have to worry about renting a car and driving.

Although it’s the perfect place for anyone who wants to have a fabulous wellness experience, I think for solo travelers there is no place you’d feel more welcome and at home than Red Mountain Resort. Once you’re here, all the activities are perfectly suited to solo participants so you won’t feel weird about attending on your own. Everything here is optional, so you can decide if you want to participate in group activities or do your own thing.

Red Mountain has multiple retreat packages to choose from so you can decide what will be included in your stay. Choose from one of its popular Adventure Retreats that include 3 meals a day plus full use of resort amenities. Or, if you want even more adventure, there are options that include trips to nearby Zion National Park for hiking and other extreme outdoor adventures! If you’d rather not have all meals and activities included, go for the basic Stay and Play package it offers. Plus, you can choose to upgrade to a villa if you’d like a little more room.

Fresh, creative, and light. That’s how I would describe the food at Red Mountain Resort. I loved every single thing I ate here. And it’s no wonder. With a top-notch, award-winning culinary staff, the cuisine is excellent. From the buffet service for breakfast and lunch to the dinner menu, all the food is prepared fresh daily. The Canyon Breeze Restaurant offers a varied menu each night for dinner — all of it amazing. When I think of buffet food I tend to think of powdered eggs and rubber chicken. Not at Red Mountain! On the buffet, you’ll find things like freshly prepared salads with chicken and tuna along with a plethora of fresh vegetables. The buffet offers a large selection to choose from, including meats, meatless and vegan options and it’s different daily.

One of my favorite dishes was the incredibly tasty curried cauliflower soup. It’s so good that it’s definitely in my top 5 soups of all time. The dinner menu also changes nightly and includes options like Pan Seared Pacific Mahi-Mahi, New Mexico Green Chile Pork Posole Stew, and a Grass Fed Utah Beef Burger. There are also decadent meatless choices including dishes like Eggplant Napoleon and GInger Soy Grill Tempeh with a Thai chile mango chutney. For dessert, try the apple pie blondies or the flourless chocolate cake. You won’t be disappointed with any choice! If you don’t want a full meal, you can also take advantage of the convenient Canyon Counter and order a snack to go. Or grab a smoothie as we did. The green machine smoothie is especially good

The full-service Sagestone Spa offers all kinds of unique, nature-inspired spa treatments as well as traditional spa services. Did I mention that in 2020 the Sagestone Spa was voted the number one spa in the country for the second year in a row according to Spas of America? How about a Soothing Agave Ritual treatment that involves a fine sea salt scrub, followed by a warming cactus gel wrap and a long hydrating agave nectar oil massage. Or maybe you’d prefer the signature Red Mountain Revitalizer with a prickly pear sugar scrub? Try one of these inventive services, get your nails done, or do both! And it didn’t forget the guys! Sagestone Spa offers services for men, too. The guys will enjoy an organic facial or a fantastic massage.

As a guest at Red Mountain, you’re welcome to explore the private labyrinth on site. How many places have you been to that have a labyrinth? If you’re like me, zero! Here is your chance to try a whole new spiritual experience. You can enter the labyrinth and let go of any unwanted thoughts that might be limiting you. Make your way to the center of the circle and allow your mind and body to take a spiritual journey as you walk the circular path. I enjoyed trying this super unique activity, and in the most amazing scenery imaginable! After some time in the labyrinth, head over to the nearby Inspiration Trail. The trail connects with the bike path that leads to Snow Canyon State Park, where you can check out numerous trails, from easy to difficult.

The grounds at Red Mountain are jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Teeming with plants, native grasses, water features, and more, the landscaping is simply divine. All your senses will appreciate the serenity of the grounds along with the special relaxation features like the outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, and hammocks. All of which are perfect for stargazing in the brilliant southern Utah night sky! Also to note are the two outdoor pools, one indoor pool, and multiple hot tubs to enjoy.

Whether you choose a traditional room or a villa for your stay, you’ll rest easy at Red Mountain. A perfect mattress ensured an extremely comfortable night’s sleep. The next morning, a hot shower in the large spa-like shower with natural stone flooring was the perfect wake-up call. After a long day of hiking, we definitely appreciated the warmth of the fireplace in our villa. And a bath in the giant soaking tub was a relaxing way to end a great day on the trails.

Getting to your vacation oasis shouldn’t be difficult. And at Red Mountain, it’s not. You can fly right into St. George, or fly into Las Vegas and drive 2 hours north to St. George. You could also fly into Salt Lake City and make the roughly 4-hour drive from there. Once you arrive, you’ll find yourself surrounded by the incredible beauty of the red rocks of Utah. You’ll have truly breathtaking views in literally every direction. And with beautiful Snow Canyon State Park a mere stone’s throw away, there is excellent hiking right out your door. Plus, with Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon so close, you can easily make the drive over to visit each.

Red Mountain Resort offers a daily schedule of activities chock full of cool things to do! Start your day with a guided hike or maybe a private Pilates session. After lunch, meet in the Wellness Studio for yoga, cardio dance, or a full-body workout class. If more outdoor fun appeals, Red Mountain offers rappelling, rock climbing, canyoneering, and outdoor ebike adventures. If you want to focus on your inner peace, check out their classes like meditation, chakra balancing, Shamanic drumming, or a private intuitive session. The classes I’ve mentioned are just the tip of the iceberg. The selection of classes and events offered daily is super impressive and the really great thing is that the instructors offer modifications. So everyone can feel comfortable. Regardless of your fitness level, they have a class for you. I loved the fact that some of the offerings were completely new to me! How often as adults do we find things that we’ve never done before? Some of the guests echoed our sentiments that Red Canyon is the place to try new things.

Don’t worry if you forgot to pack something. The Red Mountain Outfitters Store has everything you need for your stay. This perfect little shop is stocked with hiking gear, yoga wear, swimsuits, belt bags, interesting gifts and souvenirs, and even snacks. Outside you’ll find bicycles you can use to roam around the bike path. Red Mountain has thought of everything. We are already planning our return visit.
