MC students have lunch on a typical school day.

US$2.50 is a high cost for some French fries.

The price of lunch at Mount Carmel is unrealistic and very expensive. They may need some changes.

A small tray with a small amount of French fries is $2.50. "I think the price may be lower," senior Patrick Hatzis said of the price. "I think that $2.50 is a lot for fries that sometimes won't even fill you up, and three servings of chicken for $3.25 are almost the same. Sometimes, when I buy fried chicken, I regret spending those three dollars. Because sometimes they are not even cooked."

Hatzis also noticed inconsistencies in the food in the House of Commons. "Sometimes they taste great, and sometimes they taste very different. I think if I pay that much, I should be able to have a better lunch."

Drinks in the lunch room are probably the most expensive. If they are lowered, they will have more sales. At the nearest corner store, a bottle of Arizona wine is 99 cents, but it is 3 dollars in the lunch room. This is two dollars more than the price at the corner store. Gatorade sells for US$2.50, but in ordinary stores, the price ranges from US$1.50 to US$2.00. They set prices in this way, causing students to bring their own drinks instead of buying them from the lunch room. This can be easily solved by making the price reasonable. The refrigerator at the end of lunch was filled with drinks because the students thought they were overcharging.

"I buy a drink almost every day, and I think they might be expensive," senior Marco Valencia said. "I think I might go to the corner store every morning to buy drinks. For 99 cents, it's a steal. I can easily save money and buy other things outside of school."

French fries sell for US$1.25, which is much more expensive than any other store. "I paid $1.25 for the fries, but most of the bag is air, not a lot of fries," senior Carlo Perez said. "I want to say this might be plagiarism. I can buy a bag of French fries for a dollar on the vending machine next to the lunch room, and these bags are bigger." Some students said that the only reasonably priced item in the lunch room is Special dishes.

Perez said: "Compared with French fries, fried chicken nuggets, and puff pizza, it takes a lot of time to make specialties, and the latter only takes a few minutes." "The women who work for lunch service work harder than anything else. Specialties are made locally, so I understand why they are the most expensive thing in the lunch room. The price of $3.50 is unreasonable for the tender of three chickens. I think it’s a bit high."

The catering service used by Mount Carmel sets its own prices to make a profit. "Multiply these items by the price and see how much money can be made from these items," said Mrs. Paula, who works in the food service department. "This is why the price is set to the current level."

The price is so high for a reason. Students can find alternatives, such as bringing their own lunch, or even buying less food during lunch, and managing the money in your mealtime account.

There are many ways to make students like lunch more. There may be a lottery that leads to the lunch room at different prices every week. They can trade like 2 to 5. The price of lunch can be changed to a reasonable price, and may be more reasonable. There are many ways to make lunch more popular. Students like to buy lunch, but some of them think it is too expensive.
