Syracuse, N.Y. — There’s a lot going on in Loded’s chipotle French Toast chicken bacon waffle. To be honest, there’s a lot going on in most things you order from this primarily takeout enterprise from the team behind Rise N Shine, but let’s start here.

Between a pair of soft waffles were two large chicken tenders dipped in the house French toast sauce, a saucy blend of cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar with a hint of chipotle pepper infused. A drizzle of maple syrup and slices of bacon topped it off to create a fork-and-knife sandwich that crossed all of the flavor lines. Sweet? Check. Spicy? A little. Salty? Yes. Smokey? You bet.
