JAMMU, Aug 12: While the body of research scholar along with is bag containing laptop was recovered today from the Badhori Nallah about 3-4 kms down stream today, three dead bodies including a minor girl could not be recovered till late this evening. Official sources said that the dead body of Ph.D student, Harshit Mitra (25) of Central University Raya ( Vijaypur), who was washed away in Badhori Nallah on Thursday, was recovered about 3 kms down stream today. His bag containing laptop, some documents, books and lunch box was also recovered. His bike was however, was recovered last evening. The police and SDRF team recovered the body on Friday and shifted to hospital for performing legal formalities. His family members also arrived here from Calcutta. SHO , Samba Deepak Pathania said that the body of 45-year-old Neeru Devi who was washed away in a flooded Nallah at Samba Bus Stand on Thursday, could not be traced even on Friday. He said the Police, SDRF teams besides her relatives continued search operation even on the second day. There was no clue about her. The teams searched her up to Chak Manga, Gujran. The search operation will be resumed tomorrow morning again, the SHO said. Reports from Ramban said that the mother and daughter who were washed away in a flooded Nallah near Mehar in Mera Panchayat, in Ramban area on Thursday, could not be traced even after second day. Identified as Shamima (43) and her minor daughter Rozia, the bodies of the labour class family could not be traced even today. Shabir Ahmed, Shamima’s husband said that Tehsildar and a DySP from Ramban visited their basti after incident on Thursday and claimed that search operation with JCB will be launched on Friday morning but nobody from District or Tehsil Administration came at the site to launch any search. He said he along with some locals kept searching for the washed away bodies. Shabir said he managed to save his three minor children during flood and her wife was washed away while saving daughter. He further said that no help from the District Administration or Red Cross was provided to him so far since yesterday. Meanwhile, the Salal Dam authorities in Reasi district opened flood gates this afternoon and sounded alert in Reasi, AKhnoor, Jourian, Pargwal and Khour area for the public to stay away from the river banks till tomorrow morning as the water level may increase by 2-3 meters. Due to rain and floods the water level in the dam had increased, the official sources said.
